This handbook complements the former book by the same author, Swine disorders guide, published by Servet in 2014. This new guide is focused on the diagnosis of swine disorders, including clinical examination and clinical signs, and includes a deep review of the main disorders according to their clinical signs.
This guide is presented as a series of advice sheets that provide rapid information in a format easily understood by every member of the farm team. It includes sheets to aid the stockmanship as well as the checking and auditing of biosecurity standards that are considered as the foundation stone of health on a pig farm.
This useful handbook describes in detail the entire process of diagnosis, collection and sending of samples to the laboratory, the interpretation of findings, and the description of the basic laboratory techniques. It goes deeper into the knowledge of the different swine pathologies and clearly exposes the different pathologies using flow charts that will guide veterinary surgeons through the diagnostic process. At the end of each chapter there is a clinical case that completes the information offered.
A visual atlas which describes –day by day– the hole process of embryonic development in order to be able to identify critical points in this process so a final and correct diagnosis can be established.
