This handbook complements the former book by the same author, Swine disorders guide, published by Servet in 2014. This new guide is focused on the diagnosis of swine disorders, including clinical examination and clinical signs, and includes a deep review of the main disorders according to their clinical signs.
After providing a comprehensive review of the fundamental aspects of farrowing (physiology, facilities, organization, etc.) in the first volume, in this second volume, the authors focus on the next phase, lactation. From the technical and physiological aspects that affect both the mother and the piglet, to production targets, feeding, health programs on the farm, or personnel management. These are topics that will undoubtedly be helpful in the daily practice of professional veterinary surgeons. As in the previous volume, the authors have achieved a very practical book with rigorous contents, based on their experience and technical literature, accompanied by a large amount of visual material to complement the information given.

Infectious bronchitis is an acute and highly contagious respiratory disease of chickens characterized by respiratory signs comprising gasping, coughing, sneezing, tracheal rales and nasal discharge. In addition, severe respiratory distress may occur in young chickens. Respiratory distress, decrease in egg production, and loss of internal egg quality and eggshell quality have been reported in layers. Some strains of the virus produce severe kidney damage and may be associated with high mortality.
